The Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum commemorates railroad builder Otto Mears’ dream to connect Baltimore and Washington, DC to beachfront hotels, beaches and a 1,600-foot boardwalk and other leisurely pleasures. The dream was fulfilled but completely overtaken by the increasing popularity of the automobile, the construction of highways and the Great Depression. Located near the Rod ‘N’ Reel Restaurant.
